A national study finds 9 out of 10 Medicaid members are satisfied with their access to health care and the benefits they receive.

Nearly 9 in 10 (87 percent) Medicaid beneficiaries are satisfied with their Medicaid benefits, access to care

A new Morning Consult poll commissioned by America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) shows that the great majority of Medicaid beneficiaries are satisfied with the access to care and benefits that the Medicaid program provides. With the continued growth of the program, the poll captures the importance of Medicaid coverage for enrollees across the country. The poll is based on responses from a representative national survey of nearly 2,000 adult Medicaid beneficiaries.

KEY FINDINGS FROM THE NEW SURVEY INCLUDE:
  • Nearly 9 in 10 beneficiaries (87 percent) say they are satisfied with their Medicaid coverage and benefits;
  • Individuals who receive their Medicaid benefits through a Medicaid health plan had higher satisfaction with their benefits (85 percent) in comparison to those enrolled in traditional Medicaid fee-for-service programs (81 percent);
  • Less than one in 10 (9 percent) say they are dissatisfied with their coverage; and
  • Approximately eight in 10 respondents (83 percent) are highly satisfied with their level of access to doctors when needed.
